Breakwater Resort

The small kitchen covered everything we needed, and the bed was so comfortable, which matters a lot to me. We had a fantastic stay for our 20th anniversary, and the hot tub felt great on a cold, rainy February night. If the beach access at the property isn’t accessible, the beach is only a short drive away. Be ready for beach driving, since the sand at many of the area’s drive-on accesses can be very soft. Half Moon Bay and Westport Lighthouse State Park are good options for walking onto the beach.

We stayed in the renovated motel block, tucked off the road toward the ocean, and it was quiet and private. The maritime-themed room was fun and had a coffee maker and basic kitchen facilities. Remote check-in and check-out by text were super easy. The property has several types of accommodation, including standalone cottages, and it’s a great option for a stay on the Washington coast. We didn’t get to try the hot tub or pickleball court, but would like to return with the family and do that.

This was our second stay at Breakwater Resort. The rooms are cozy and have all the amenities we needed, including a fridge, range, microwave, pots, pans, and dishes. Having a kitchen helped us save some money on eating out. The property is well kept and about a five-minute walk from the beach. Even with on-and-off rain, they were mowing and cleaning. Communication with the team started within a day of booking and continued through the two months before our visit and during the stay. Westport is about 10 minutes away, Tokeland 15, and Raymond 30, so there’s plenty to explore nearby. For nightlife, I recommend Knotty Pine in Westport. It has a nice atmosphere, good service, and a big Mac-style smash burger from the grill. The Breakwater Resort team were hospitable, and we enjoyed the getaway.

The online photos don’t really show how nice this little hidden gem is. We came down for clam digging and found a great clam-cleaning station, plus a fire pit and covered hot tub. The room was clean and comfortable, with a stove, fridge, and microwave. I also noticed an EV charging station. A big wow of a stay.
