The breakfast was a real plus, with an excellent spread like the other CHOICE HOTELS I stayed at on this trip from YUMA, AZ. Check-in was quick and friendly, thanks to BUD & MORGAN at reception, which I really needed after a long day driving. The room was great for cleanliness, sleep comfort, and washroom supplies, though I had to deal with wind noise at the windows. They could use weather stripping in the track. My one other annoyance was the DIRECT TV setup. There was no channel guide control, so I had to flip through ALLLLLL the channels on the remote the hard way. Minor, but still irritating. COMFORT INNS remains a dependable choice for me as a CHOICE PRIVILEDGE member booking online without seeing the place first.

In room 210 for two nights, I found the beds fine, and the bathroom was somewhere between okay and not great. The room smelled of cigarettes, and other guests were loud without staff stepping in. I planned to stay somewhere else next time. Update: the owners and staff later contacted me, said they appreciated the feedback, and reimbursed part of the cost.

The breakfast was below standard, and the rooms looked clean on the surface but could use a deep clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We had booked two king suites, but at check-in they gave us one king suite and one room with two queens. The welcome was friendly.

There was a good range of breakfast choices, and the pool was nice. I slept comfortably on the bed and pillows, and the TV was large. The woman who checked me in was very nice.

The building is old, so it comes with some odors, and that isn't really something the team can fix. I didn't want to let that count against them because the staff and service truly deserve more stars. If I were rating service alone, I'd give it full marks.
