Currier Inn

The smaller bed in the room had a divot, and the metal bar could kind of dig into you, but it didn’t bother me. We stumbled on this adorable inn by accident, and I’m so glad we did. I fell in love with the place. They’d accidentally overbooked our room, so they upgraded us to an absolutely adorable suite with a full kitchen and bathroom, plus a soaking tub.

It would have helped to know the hotel was also the Crepe restaurant. There were no restaurant facilities when we arrived. The access codes didn’t work, and luckily another guest let us in. There was no ice anywhere and no night watch or reception. The room key was difficult to use, and there were two key slots on the bedroom door. Only one eventually worked. The TV plug was faulty, so we had to switch it to get the TV working.

It looks lovely and has a fabulous crepes restaurant, so I really wanted to love this hotel. But I can only give it one star. This was the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in: hair in the bathtub, black and brown stains on the bath towels, crumbs on the desk and carpet, a dead bug and sand under the sheet, blood stains on the pillowcase, and old coffee left in the coffee maker. The bed also wasn’t the same as the one advertised online, and the wifi didn’t work. I understand it’s an old house and didn’t expect the room to be in great shape, but I did expect it to be clean. That should be the minimum for any hotel room. The owner should probably get a different cleaning service and replace the towels and sheets if the old ones can’t be cleaned anymore.

WOW, I was bumped off my flight and called the Currier Inn right away to say I was canceling. Booking.com was willing to refund my stay, but the OWNER KEPT MY MONEY! I’ve since heard the place is filthy anyway!
