Hampton Inn & Suites Greenfield

The room was clean, breakfast was handled well, and the staff were really friendly. The location worked well too, with skiing nearby and a grocery store next door. But the heat first blows freezing air for about 20 minutes before warming up, and the room temperature kept shifting between 67 and 72. Pretty uncomfortable. You can also hear a lot between rooms, and the elevators make unsettling noises.

The indoor saltwater pool was a nice place to unwind after hiking, and breakfast was free in the morning. The hotel is dated, but very clean, with bright, spacious common areas. Our room felt cozy and had all the amenities, though the AC unit looked battered. The elevators screeched and clicked like they were struggling on the way up. Still, we had a very positive stay.

I accidentally booked the wrong date and called the front desk. A polite, empathetic young man checked that they had a room for tonight and put me through to a supervisor. She said I couldn't change my mistaken reservation, which is 20 days away, even though they had space tonight. She also said a refund was only possible if I booked a week from now. My Hilton Honors membership made no difference. Now I have nowhere to stay tonight unless I pay the full amount again, and I'm very disappointed. I won't use the membership again or stay at a Hilton. Bad policy and bad customer service, apart from the helpful front desk employee.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and having a grocery store across the street was handy. I stayed at the Hilton Inn in Greenfield, MA, in December for work. My room was spacious and comfortable, with two beds, a desk, a reading chair, coffee station, TV, closet, fridge, and a bathroom with a vanity and shower. The hallway had a noticeable musty smell, though the room itself was fine. I also liked having coffee and tea available around the clock, especially for a cup before bed, and the gym had what I needed for a good workout. Breakfast didn't impress me and could use work. Despite those minor drawbacks, I'd consider staying again for the convenience and amenities.
