I’ve booked with this hotel for years and always paid before arriving. I’d already bought a room for my family at the discount price when a snowstorm forced us to pull over on the side of the road. I explained the situation to the hotel and two different representatives, but was told there were no exceptions, even when the main highway gets shut down. I asked three times if they could offer points to make it right, and they said no each time. After more than five years of loyalty, getting no accommodation at all is ridiculous. Choice and this hotel won’t get my business again.

On this visit, I heard kitchen staff talking badly and laughing at me in Spanish. I’d dropped my breakfast on the elevator while getting to my floor and went back for another plate, so I found their behavior very unprofessional. Still, this was another good stay at a place I’ve visited three times. The rooms were clean, breakfast looked good, and customer service is usually good, especially at the front desk.

At $100 a night, the hotel is fine. The room was clean, with a coffee machine, ironing facilities, and a microwave, which was a plus. Some things, like the chair, showed wear. The bathroom was clean, but some towels had permanent yellow stains, and the door made it awkward to get out. Breakfast was average for a $100 hotel, though it was handy to have wrapped fruit and bars to take away. Staff were friendly and professional, and there’s plenty of parking near lots of other hotels and restaurants. During the High Point market show, the rate jumps to $220 a night. Hotels in High Point and nearby places like Greensboro and Winsden Salem all seem to do this. It’s definitely not worth $220 a night, but since all the hotels double their prices, it wouldn’t be fair to judge this one at that rate.

The front desk woman was super helpful this morning. I rolled in from Texas, and I usually look for a Comfort Inn when I travel because the rooms are reliably clean, the breakfast is decent, and the prices are great. I’ll look for another Comfort Inn at my next stop tomorrow.

Mold in the shower, and the bed gave me lower back pain on the first day. We’re 13 hours from home, traveling on night shift, and management woke us up to make us move the truck and trailer because they said it wasn’t fair to other customers. They don’t care about hard-working people, just money.
