The people at the front desk were especially warm, and the hospitality was second to none. This is a reasonably priced, quaint boutique hotel in downtown Greensboro, with a cozy, comfortable room and a perfect spot just a seven-minute walk from the Amtrak station. The building’s age shows in loose floorboards and a cracked windowsill, and outside noise comes into the room easily. The bed is very firm, and the TV is really small.

The Biltmore felt like coming back to an apartment after work during the week I stayed there. My ground-floor room was clean, the climate control was good, the bed was very comfortable, and the mini fridge let me keep food and prepare meals. The Wi-Fi was great. The fixtures are old and a little temperamental, but everything worked fine. Staff I met during the week were lovely, helpful, and clearly cared about this historic property. They were professional and informative, too. It’s an architectural landmark, so some dated features are part of preserving the building and Greensboro’s history. The feel is more like a bed and breakfast, or your grandma’s country house. If you want modern fixtures and a more contemporary feel, there’s a Marriott down the street for twice the price. I’d recommend staying here if you’re looking to enjoy downtown Greensboro.

The staff were nice, and that 100-year-old elevator was a fun feature. The building has a lot of history and a great downtown location, and I understand new owners took over recently, so hopefully things improve. During my stay, the shower had no hot water, the breakfast options were limited, and the packaged muffin had mold on it. There were no curtains, so sunrise made the room bright, and the blanket had what looked like a blood stain.

The staff were friendly and knew the place well, and the hotel made a great base for exploring downtown Greensboro. It’s a beautiful historic building with a rich past. The rooms are nicely appointed, each furnished and decorated differently. This was my first visit, but it won’t be my last. If you’re after somewhere different, give this eclectic hotel a try.

The evening wine social and the interesting, delicious breakfasts were lovely, and the staff made us feel like visiting family. My husband even nicknamed Brian, Lee, and Tim “BLT.” The team also arranged and catered an evening cocktail reception for our guests, which made entertaining easy. We spent three nights at The Biltmore Greensboro in mid-April 2025 for our daughter’s wedding festivities, and the stay was stress-free so we could focus on the celebration. We wanted a charming boutique hotel near local attractions where we could comfortably host family and guests, and it delivered. The antique decor and distinctive character were wonderful. Our “run of the house” package brought a fun surprise, and the room felt like stepping back in time. Even the old elevator added to the charm, like something from Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” We can’t recommend this hidden gem enough, and look forward to staying again when we visit the newlyweds.
