Holiday Inn Express Greenville by IHG

The hotel could be beautiful, but it isn’t being kept up to that potential. The whole place needs to be cleaner, and the rooms were just okay. Water pressure was horrible. Service also felt nonexistent even though someone was always physically at the front desk. I stayed a week and wasn’t greeted once.

Everyone was friendly and attentive, with a real smile when they greeted us, and that made the stay pleasant. The rooms, dining room, and reception were spotless too. It felt welcoming from arrival right through breakfast.

We were only passing through, but the quoted rate of 201.00 with tax was ridiculous. We were told the other area hotels were booked, then I called the Best Western right across the road and found a rate of 89.00 plus tax with my husband’s military discount. I asked whether this hotel could match it, but it couldn’t. We knew it had a few more amenities, but not enough to justify 100.00 more. We checked out at no charge and stayed elsewhere. I’m a rewards member, but we won’t return.

The staff were great and the food was terrific, but the room had issues. There were a couple of stains or something on the bedding, and dirt in a bathroom counter corner, as if it hadn’t been fully cleaned. Also, seven ladybugs were in the room. They’re pretty, but they sting when they bite, and I’d rather not get bitten while trying to sleep before a long drive.
