Holiday Inn Express & Suites Greenville - Downtown by IHG

We stayed two nights and I’m very pleased. The facility was clean and the free breakfast was great. James at the check-in counter was courteous and kind. He had a strong work ethic, staying busy and keeping the lobby clean and professional.

Downtown was convenient, with everything in walking distance, so I didn’t have to drive or look for parking. The room was very clean and smelled fresh. There was a constant deep noise in it. It wasn’t disruptive, but it was loud enough to get annoying. The desk attendant was sweet and checked me in quickly. When I asked about walking around at night, she honestly said it was safe and mentioned the downtown night patrols, which reassured me. They also gave me a small welcome bag with water and a printout of nearby places to eat, which made choosing somewhere easy. It was a great stay, and I’d absolutely return.

The location was perfect, and unlike many Downtown Greenville hotels, parking was free. We had excellent service during our Thanksgiving break stay. Our first room had a door lock problem, so we were moved to a better room type. I was told we’d need to switch back to the type I’d paid for, but the manager said we could stay put so we wouldn’t have to keep moving. That was a prayer answered. Linen for the sofa bed arrived within 15 minutes of our request. A special thank you to the front desk woman, whose name I think was Julie or Juliette. I’m sorry if I got that wrong. Nathaniel, the manager, was amazing too. Hope to see you both again soon.

I stay out of town most of the year for work, and this is easily the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in. There are amazing restaurants within walking distance, but the employees are what really make the place. Brooklyn and Nathaniel are the kind of people you quickly get to know by first name, and a friendly conversation or even an inside joke by checkout wouldn’t be surprising. (You don’t have any chocolate cake do you?) I’d recommend this hotel to anyone. Even if I were working in a nearby area, I’d stay here.
