Hyatt Place Greenville Downtown

The hotel was clean and very nice, and the staff gave great service. But valet stops at 11 pm, parking is limited unless you pay, and there’s just one elevator, which housekeeping uses too. The wait for it was enough to make us decide we wouldn’t stay at this location again.

Christina at the front desk made the trip feel personal. She remembered my name throughout my stay after seeing my ID at check-in, and her service was warm and genuine. The lobby also had plenty of quiet corners, unlike some hotels that feel like malls. It was very clean and easy to reach downtown. My usual hotel was booked this time, but I’ll be choosing this one going forward.

Hyatt Place, Downtown Greenville (SC). January 2026 Breakfast was a real bright spot. The food in the bar area was fresh enough and nicely cooked, with a good range of choices, fresh fruit, hot coffee, and larger tables for families or business meetings. The employees were consistently friendly and willing to help, and the man working the desk when I arrived around 12:30 or 12:45 AM was wide awake, enthusiastic, and offered to help with my luggage. The room looked clean at first, but the shade was ripped and dirty, and it was the only thing between me and the neighboring window. The extra blankets smelled bad, so I chose to be cold instead. The heating vent kept blowing cold air near the foot of the bed. I was told the heat pump doesn’t work well when it’s very cold. That may make sense, but it didn’t make the room warmer. Internet was also down. I had meetings most of the day and needed it because my foreign phone number would otherwise incur roaming fees. The desk suggested I work downstairs, and their comments made it sound like this happens regularly. I spent two nights and most of three days trying their suggestions for both heat and internet. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but the explanations and proposed fixes seemed very well practiced. I eventually changed hotels. The final straw was being told they wouldn’t clean my room while I was in it, because that was their policy. Mi Mne is the opposite, and I’d never heard of this policy before. When they did clean it while I stayed, I realized they’d taken away my extra blankets too. The location suited my plans, and the price was a little lower than I usually pay, though Hyatt isn’t my preferred brand. This experience won’t make it a favorite. I requested a refund, but since it was a package price, I may or may not get one.

It’s easy to get around from here, with lots of useful places a short walk away. Parking was plentiful, including nearby street spaces and a deck for just $7 a day. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and the accessible room we had felt huge. Both our room and the shared spaces were clean and neat.
