Quality Inn & Suites Greenville - Haywood Mall

For the price, this hotel was better than I expected. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, and the staff were friendly. There's a pool, and breakfast is offered, though it's a small selection. Finding the room can be confusing because even-numbered rooms are on one side and odd-numbered ones are opposite, so it helps if someone explains that. I travel around the country for work, and this was a nice stay for the money.

I spent the whole night without sleep. People were shouting and slamming doors in the parking lot, and the noise carried on past 4 a.m. I called the front desk several times. Security came out around 2 and 3 a.m., but it kept happening. When I said I might have to call local authorities so I could sleep, the staff asked me not to and said they'd take care of it. The guests were eventually told to return to their rooms, but they continued making noise inside. At checkout I asked for a manager to contact me because rest is the whole point of paying for a hotel, and I couldn't get any. Nobody followed up, so I contacted them a week later. Assistant manager Harry replied that there was nothing they could do, with no apology or real concern. The security response didn't work, management didn't respond until I chased them, and the customer service was awful. This was a noisy, trashy experience and absolutely not worth the money or lost sleep.

We liked the price as students, but we've had better stays at other places. The Greenville Quality Inn was just average next to other locations we've tried. The rooms were clean and decent, though a little dated and dim, and the public spaces felt quiet.

After driving all night from Michigan, I ended up not staying at all. The hotel said I had made an error in my reservation, though I hadn't, and blamed a so-called third-party booking agency. The front desk staff were rude and disrespectful. Instead of trying to sort it out, they doubled down and acted like the customer was always wrong. This is the worst hotel experience I've had. I'd avoid this place like the plague.
