Hyatt Regency Greenwich

The pool was the one disappointing part of a stay I otherwise enjoyed very much. I went for a swim around 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon, but the area was full of children taking lessons and parents watching. They weren't families staying at the hotel. With so many people and so much noise in a small pool area, relaxing or even taking a quick swim wasn't possible. As a paying guest, I was disappointed I couldn't use the pool. The Hyatt Regency Greenwich has a beautiful atrium, high quality attention to detail, and friendly, professional staff. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well appointed.

Michael, the Director of Finance, turned a frustrating pool visit around. He listened, understood the problem, and acted right away to make things right for my family. His professionalism and care made the experience fabulous in the end. We'd booked a weekday Day Pass through Resort Pass. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, but a third-party swim school was using a large part of the pool when we arrived. Two instructors and several young children were there. As my kids got in, the instructors rudely told them they could use only one section, and seemed to talk down to them instead of speaking to me as their parent. When I got their attention to ask about the schedule, they were rude again and said they were there Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. I was disappointed that the pool is essentially reserved during weekdays, with no warning on the booking site. I also felt for hotel guests paying full price who can't fully enjoy the amenities all week. If you're booking a weekday pass, be aware of the swim school schedule.

Ruben was always friendly at breakfast, a lovely way to start each morning. I'd definitely head downstairs for the food instead of ordering room service. I stayed a few nights and have to rave about the evening bartenders, Billy & Daniel. They're fun, mix the best drinks, and made every night memorable. Billy makes the best espresso martinis, so ask him to make yours. I'll be back, and I'm so happy with the team and my stay.

The service made the stay stand out. Everyone we spoke with was kind, attentive, and pleasant, and we'd love to return. My girlfriend and I were named “guest of the day” at check-in. That came with complimentary in-room snacks, Fiji water, late checkout applied automatically, and free parking. They also said we'd receive 2,000 Hyatt points as a thank-you, though I haven't seen those yet. We weren't sure what to expect, but had an excellent visit. There's a beautiful bar, a huge atrium full of real trees and plants, a movie theater, and a fully stocked gym. Breakfast cost extra, but was well worth it.
