The room itself was just okay, though I had to take one on the second floor because the first floor was full and still dirty. The fridge, microwave, and Wi-Fi all worked. Furniture looked at least 35 years old and was heavily scuffed, and the counter above the toilet made you hold the seat up. Housekeeping seemed badly understaffed. There’s no elevator, and the first-floor ice machine was broken. The only working one was by the cash-only washer and dryer. Soda from the vending machine cost three dollars and cash only. The fitness room had a treadmill, elliptical, and cable weights, plus another TV that didn’t work. Hard to say when anyone last cleaned it. The indoor pool had scummy tile walls and scraped graffiti. There was conference space sitting unused, but no ice or vending on the second floor. Breakfast was pretty laughable: powdered scrambled eggs in a half pan, sausage patties only if enough guests were there, mostly ultra-processed carbs, and a little fruit. They kept running out of milk. The dining room floor was always sticky, the walls were scuffed, table legs uneven, and the TV didn’t work. They served it on particleboard folding tables. The front desk was often empty, with a phone left out to summon someone. They really seemed that short-staffed. The manager was the only one who spoke English as a first language, but barely spoke at all. The other staff spoke English as a second or maybe third language, and were hard to understand. Three different floor tiles had been laid in opposing directions, unevenly, with cracks and broken spots. There was ancient carpet under the main stairs, and mineral buildup on the sinks. I won’t stay here again, and I’d say skip it.

The pool was hard to enjoy because the chlorine fumes were overwhelming and the heat felt intolerable. In the room, we found dead bugs in the bathroom, though the room itself was good. At breakfast, an hour before it ended, my husband had to ask the attendant to refill the empty warming trays. When we checked in, we were told there’d be a refundable deposit because we’d booked through a third-party reservation service, even though we’d paid through their website. I left unhappy with the experience.

The room was dirty from the carpet throughout the hotel to the stained bedspread, and the bathroom paint was peeling. The shower head was so caked with deposits that taking a shower took forever. Breakfast was disgusting too, with every table dirty at 7 in the morning and a sticky floor. Never again.

The bathroom door was hanging so badly it would fall off its hinges if you tried it. There was black mold all over the ceiling, and the wall mounted shampoo and conditioner were empty, so bring your own. The hot tub was colder than the pool. We’d come into town for a baby shower, and the mildew smell hit as soon as we walked into the room. Floors and walls were filthy, and I don’t think anyone had vacuumed or cleaned the bathtub. The heater made a noise all night like someone vacuuming. I was traveling alone with my three daughters, and after we’d carried all our luggage inside, we had nowhere else to go. Otherwise I wouldn’t have cared about losing the refund. I’d never stay at this Quality Inn again. Spend extra and go somewhere else.

The night manager was a joke. I stood at the desk for 30 minutes waiting for a replacement key, and when I called at 1 a.m. about the fire alarm that wouldn’t stop chirping, they said they’d be happy to have the cops remove us for asking to switch rooms. The sheets felt like cardboard, and the pillows were huge squares that were impossible to sleep on. I’ll drive through the whole city to avoid this place again.
