I'm staying here on Valentine's Day. The location is good and the rooms are nice, even with all the new equipment in the hallways. Service is terrible. When I asked for early check-in, they said no right away, and I felt like they didn't listen to me. I also called the front desk to add a day to my stay, but despite already having my CC, I was told I had to do it online or come downstairs. After a 17-hour flight, I felt like shit and still had to come down. What century are you guys in? Brent

The location was fine, and the overnight staff member was kind. I understand he didn't have much authority. The room was disgusting, though. I knew about the construction when I booked, but there was no hot water, the toilet wouldn't flush, and a screw sticking out of the wall cut me. The room next door had the TV blaring. The front desk asked them to turn it down, but they turned it up and started deliberately banging on our wall. Then they had loud, violent intercourse that woke their baby, and the cycle went on for hours. I finally checked out at 11pm. Staff offered no help and said I should speak to Sydney in the morning. I did, but she didn't help either. I had to call Hilton customer service to get a refund for a room I couldn't stay in for a full night. Awful room, awful service, awful clientele. So disappointing, and I don't recommend staying here. I can see that almost all the other reviews get replies except mine, and this hotel still shows consistently atrocious service.

The lobby floor was filthy, with months of dirt stuck to it and no regular sweeping or mopping. I know renovations were underway, but there didn't seem to be any effort to keep things clean. The room hadn't been properly cleaned either, but we checked in at four AM when housekeeping wasn't around. The front desk attendant did his best, and I appreciate that, so I won't go into the room's condition. The main reason for my two stars is that the hotel had no actual antibacterial hand soap, only FACIAL bar soap. I called to ask for proper soap and was told they didn't have any, so I had to go out and buy some. It's unsanitary, and it means guests are walking around with dirty hands. Please do better.

I've stayed at much worse Hilton branded properties, and for the price, you can't beat this place. I knew ahead of time that Spark is their basic hotel, and the room was simple, with a fine bed and a shower that worked well. I could smell that the carpet had been replaced and the walls had relatively fresh paint. Check-in service was great. I'm a Hilton diamond member and have stayed at plenty of their properties over the years. This was my first Spark stay, just for one night. If you're after a quick trip and aren't expecting the four seasons, you'll do fine here.

Dust, slippery areas, and drilling from 9 a.m. made the place feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I was told renovations would continue until May, yet there's no discount. Guests still pay full price as though the amenities were all working, the hotel was dust-free, and everything was safe. That's hard to justify. Based on previous reviews, staff experience also seems to have been consistently disappointing, which matches my own impression. If you're looking for comfort or value, I'd consider other nearby options: there's a Courtyard right behind and a Sheraton just four minutes away. If you're paying for a name, Marriott is usually a reliable choice.
