SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Greenwood

The free breakfast wasn't good, and guests weren't allowed to take it back to their rooms. They treat that as takeout and try to charge $15-$20. I've never come across that at any hotel I've stayed in, but I guess every little cut helps their bottom line. The price was standard for this star level. Rooms are roomy and the furniture looks fairly updated and in good shape, though I found dirt and hairs on the bathroom floor. If you want a room that doesn't open to the outside like a motel, be ready to take the stairs since there isn't an elevator.

Terrible experience dealing with them over the phone. A family friend who'd stayed a day or two before me said the hotel had roaches and they had to leave, so I wasn't comfortable staying there. I called before check-in to explain and cancel, but was told to contact the third-party site I booked through. The next day, they said there was no record of my call, marked me as a no-show, and wouldn't cancel or refund the booking. The third party said the manager had to call me, but apparently the manager “isn’t” there. They also wouldn't tell me the manager's name.

Really lovely place to stay, clean and beautiful, with spacious rooms. The balcony was a nice extra, especially if you smoke.

There are four charging stations for electric vehicles, and you can reach the rooms from indoors or outside. The beds were comfortable, too. Mornings came with breakfast, and in the evening there was a happy hour with two Cokes or beer. There's also an indoor and outdoor pool that connect, plus complimentary coffee at a lobby kiosk. Great hotel all around.
