Clarion Inn

The renovation has made the place better than it used to be, and breakfast was yummy. Employees were nice. There’s a pool, sauna, mini gym, laundry, microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, and blow dryer. I gave it three stars because they jerked my grandma around about payment, and my key card kept acting up.

The rooms are nicer than I expected, and the landscaping is well done. Inside, the decor is simple in a good way. The pool is nice too, though it could use a redo. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and the rooms are affordable.

Breakfast starts at 6 am, but it was all cold, including the powdered eggs. I used to stay here often because it was affordable and clean, but with the new ownership it hasn’t been the same. I booked two queen beds with the owner and confirmed it several times. On arrival, I was given one queen for the two-queen price, which had also gone up by $50. The desk person moved me to a two-queen room, then charged me even more for their mistake. They repeatedly said only the owner could fix the price difference, and the desk person warned me the owner was strict about prices and might not correct it. It still hasn’t been fixed as promised. I’m very unhappy and wouldn’t recommend this place. If I could give minus five stars, I would.

My grandmother visits often, but we won’t stay here again. We paid over $100 for a room for her, my aunt, and my cousin, and came by around 11 pm after work just to visit for a few hours. We weren’t staying overnight and planned to leave around 1 am. A little before then, they called the room and told my aunt we had to go because other guests weren’t allowed to visit after 11. We were just sitting together talking, not making noise, but they kicked us out anyway. The next morning they charged my grandmother another $50 for extra people, even though we hadn’t stayed the night. We’d considered it because it’s close by, but we’ll use the Quality Inn down the street from now on. We’re adults and don’t need a curfew, especially when we aren’t bothering anyone. They don’t treat us like little kids there.
