Extended Stay America Suites - Portland - East

The front desk woman was very nice, helpful, and respectful, and the rooms were pretty decent. Still, I checked out the next morning instead of finishing my stay. A medium-sized cockroach fell from the top of the bathroom door onto my jacket when I opened it. Later that night, my son said he saw a spider on a bathroom towel. I jumped up, but it was another cockroach, a baby one. Not long afterward I spotted one more on the counter by the stove.

We had bug problems in our room, the hallway, and the bathrooms, and the front desk was no help with them. We also had nights when people smoked weed in their rooms while the property manager wasn’t there, with no help from staff. Upstairs neighbors were loud at 3:30 am on some days. The front door says smoking isn’t allowed within ten feet, but employees smoked just outside the back door by the vending machines. The property manager seems to target some families with inaccurate complaints, picking and choosing who to report. People often hang out in the lobby chatting with the front desk staff, and it felt like families who weren’t connected to those staff were treated differently. I keep to myself because of things like this. I wouldn’t recommend this long-term hotel to anyone.

We’ve been staying here since December 24th while between homes and haven’t had any issues. The staff are always friendly and great. Coffee and muffins in the morning are a nice bonus. I’d recommend Extended Stay to friends and family.

We’ve been here for a couple of months. It’s clean and quiet, in a good location, and the staff are amazing. They’re also great with guest pets and love each one. I’d definitely recommend staying here for either a short or long stay.
