The couple managing the place were pleasant and accommodating, and I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. It’s close to I-95 but far enough away that nights were quiet. The location in Groton also isn’t surrounded by shops that might attract loitering or illegal activity. For a motor hotel, the recently renovated rooms are large and incredibly well priced. Mine had a full-size fridge and freezer, microwave, Wi-Fi, and TV, and there was complimentary tea and coffee in the registration lobby in the morning. I was surprised there was no daily room service for stays longer than one night. It’s not pet friendly at present. I needed a safe, clean place overnight and was very happy. I’d stay again.

The staff at the Hilltop Express Inn Groton were very welcoming, and the bed was comfortable. When I asked for a clean towel, they brought me three freshly laundered, warm ones. Prices were reasonable, and there were good food options nearby. I stayed with a friend and had one of the best times I can remember at an inn. I’d go back without a second thought.

My son ran into a small problem while checking in, but the staff went out of their way to sort it out and make sure he had a room. I’m so grateful to the staff and the business. Crisis averted.

For the price, this hotel is pretty affordable. The room was quite clean, and although the bathroom is small, it was clean and nice too. I’d definitely come back.

The rooms were clean, with hard floors and no carpet, though that made them a little noisy at night. The outside didn’t make a great first impression. It’s a two-star hotel, so don’t expect much, but it’s cheap for the area, I guess.
