Spicer Mansion

It’s an easy walk to the library, river, and downtown, and the town’s shops are nice. Some details at the hotel seem to have been chosen to support local businesses. We visited in summer, and it was peaceful, with pretty renovations inside. The service was thoughtful and respectful, attentive without hovering unless asked. Directions, amenities, and check-in were easy to follow, so we likely wouldn’t need to ask. The bathroom was pristine, the beds supportive, and the subtle theme worked well throughout. AC and TV both worked. I’d choose to return.

We came back for a second visit and had just as good an experience as the first. The historic house is lovely, with beautiful decor, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. There’s a cozy dining room and the service there is personable. A great place for a stylish getaway!

The continental breakfast was great, and my wife loved the pay as you go wine bar. Water, soda, and snacks are complementary. It’s a fantastic property with great staff, up the hill from the boardwalk. Main Street is a five minute walk. We’ll be back again and again.

Our gallery owner stayed at the Captain's Mansion on a last minute trip and came back with only good things to say. Nancy was excellent to work with and made the space welcoming and accommodating. From the initial booking through checkout, the whole process was incredibly smooth. We’re very pleased with the flexibility, kindness, and amenities, and plan to use the Captain's Mansion for all our future stays in the area for our staff.
