Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Grove City

The place was quiet and well kept, and both my toddler and teenager had a really nice weekend. Breakfast was a big hit, too. Danny and Sam did a great job, and everyone on site helped make the trip special. They had everything we needed, and probably something for whatever you might have forgotten.

The location worked well, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The room setup was awkward, though: the bed faced the window, with the TV mounted on the wall to the right. A heater sign said to use a wall thermostat, but there wasn't one there, so at 6' 1" I had to bend down and reach under the cabinet with the fridge and microwave to operate it. The wifi was also awful and seemed to reset every day or every other day during my five-day stay.

We were in town with a group of 15 for our mother's funeral, and the way our complaint was handled was awful. Unsupervised kids were yelling and using the furniture like merry-go-rounds. When we raised the issue, we were asked whether “We” could move somewhere else. We were also told management did not honor titanium elite benefits. The front desk staff, Jarod or Jacob, came across as indifferent at best and rude at worst. Poor management, and a bad look for Marriott. There are plenty of other places around, and I'd suggest staying elsewhere.

I was in town for a music festival and spent most of the day out, getting back late. At check-in I asked for extra pillows and was told they'd arrive in 10 minutes, but they never did. The conditioner was empty when we arrived, and my wife only noticed after washing her hair, so I had to get dressed and go back down for more. These are small annoyances, and I'm only leaving the feedback in hopes they can improve. The stay was otherwise decent.
