Hampton Inn & Suites Augusta West

The location was convenient, with everything we needed nearby, and check-in went smoothly with friendly staff. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well set up for a short stay. We had a pretty good experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Augusta West.

The room was close to perfect, but paint was peeling in spots and there was trash on the carpet, like it had only been partly cleaned. The sofa had a huge stain, yuck. I called room service a couple of times and nobody answered.

The breakfast was wonderful, carefully presented and maybe with a little love. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the large flat-screen TV that greeted me by name, a Hilton Honors program perk. This place was a breath of fresh air, and I highly recommend it.

I had to extend my stay by two days and was perfectly happy to do so. This Hampton will be my go-to in the Augusta area. Some reviews weren't great, but I'm glad I booked anyway. The team was amazing: staff were friendly and accommodating, remembered my name, and greeted me in the lobby. The housekeepers were just as good. I work in infection control, and their work impressed me. On my second day I saw a couple of them changing all the bedding after checkout, including blankets and the duvet, without knowing I was watching. That reassured me. The bathroom and room were clean, and the beds comfortable. I was also wary of comments calling the area shady, but I felt safe. My truck was fine in the lot, and the couple of times I went out at 2 am, I didn't see anything questionable. There are several hotels next to the Hampton, but they seemed well kept, not trashy, and either newer or recently renovated. Waffle House is in the adjoining lot across from the front doors; its food and service were excellent, and I felt safe there too. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn style.
