Holiday Inn Augusta West I-20 by IHG

We rested well in the comfortable queen bed, and I liked the Dove travel-size collection. The front desk receptionists and food attendants were all pleasant and hospitable. But we stayed from 10/24/25-10/25/25 and didn't feel our needs were fully met; the hotel's Priceline rating of 8.9 out of 10 seemed overrated. I hope changes are made so my husband and I can visit again. Our room wasn't freshly cleaned when we arrived. It was dusty and had a lingering musty smell. I can't say whether a dog had been in it, but it would make sense to keep guests with animals on one floor. A room that has been empty for a while still needs tidying before the next guest. It was also unexpected and inconvenient that drinks at the buffet had to be purchased separately. The elevator was out on one side when we arrived. Once it was working again, it still jolted or dropped suddenly, and I worried it might stop while I was inside. The TV could also be raised a little higher above the bed.

For a night or two, it's fine, though it's just okay overall. The place was mostly clean, with one exception, a dead roach in my room. I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay: the fridges are tiny and there's no kitchenette. The TVs are large, but the WiFi is spotty and the elevators are slow and clunk noisily. The coffee makers are for Keurig cups and won't work without one.

Tammy at the front desk made me feel at home and was a big reason I enjoyed my stay. She was professional from the first conversation, attentive to my questions, and made sure I had answers and what I needed. Her communication was clear, friendly, and helpful. You don't often find service like that.

My family has decided this is our favorite hotel, and we'll definitely be back. The service, food, and comfort were excellent all around. Fran, a sweet woman who's been there for years, greets everyone with a family-like smile. Thanks, Holiday Inn, for having such an amazing staff!
