Ala Moana Hotel by LSI Resorts

The hotel staff are very nice, and there are plenty of amenities you can use even if your room is managed by LSI. There’s also a bell desk for luggage. The hotel is beautiful, safe, and in a great location. I walked out in the middle of the night without any problems. You can walk around downtown Waikiki in 15-30 minutes, or drive or take a cheap Uber. Ala Moana, the largest mall, is right next door, with lots of shopping and food choices. My room was decent but smelled a bit. It had recently been renovated, though only body lotion and shampoo were provided, so I had to get my own body wash. There were plenty of towels. That’s an issue with the management company, not the hotel itself. I booked an ocean-view room through super.com, but it’s worth knowing the difference between ocean view and ocean front. The ocean was off to the right of the balcony, and straight ahead were buildings and a pool. Booking through super.com didn’t tell me that LSI, a third-party company unaffiliated with the hotel, managed the room. That meant basic hotel services like daily cleaning, extra towels, and room service weren’t included and would cost extra. For room problems, you have to contact LSI. Their number never gets answered, though they replied to my email within the day, after about six hours. I’d check whether the hotel or LSI manages the room. The price was almost the same, but hotel-managed rooms come with more perks, so I’d book directly with the hotel next time.
