Holiday Inn Express & Suites Augusta W Grovetown by IHG

Kristin Shull does a fantastic job as manager, and I’ll always stay here when I’m working nearby. IHG has done well to find and keep such a good staff. The hotel is consistently clean, quiet, well cared for, and has a calm feel. They keep updating it, too. Thanks, IHG!

The beds are comfortable, the TV is a nice size, and the staff are lovely. Cece, Tobias, and Inez always greet me with a smile, even on their busiest days, and get me a room that works for me. I’ve been coming here for years and don’t plan to go anywhere else. It’s a good place to get away from traffic. I did have one bad interaction. I got off work around 4 a.m. one night and asked Katrina at the front desk if I could extend my stay. Her body language seemed irritated, and she took my papers quickly from my hand. She then used a calculator to work out the cost before anything was authorized. I’m a loyal Diamond Elite customer, and I hate being treated rudely when I haven’t been rude myself. Apart from that, I really like this place.

I wouldn’t call this kid friendly. The staff’s demeanor and the way they act in public put me off. Security also seemed lacking, with unsecured elevators and stairs, and an inattentive night shift. At check-in, I’d be careful about what information I shared with the front desk. Checkout is at 11, and as far as I can tell, rewards members aren’t offered or granted late checkout. I was told the smart TVs and their apps, including Netflix, don’t work anywhere in the hotel, and that it’s been that way for a year. The air conditioners were noisy and smelled moldy. Breakfast options were poor. This felt like a 2.5-star, independently owned franchise.

It’s in a great location and stays pretty quiet. The rooms are clean, and the beds seemed comfortable to sleep in. Breakfast was good, with more to choose from than just bagels and pastries.
