Sleep Inn & Suites Gulfport

Getting to the hotel involved a whole u-turn detour. After check-in, we found the previous guest’s food still in the fridge. While looking under the furniture for my daughter’s toy, I found an unopened diabetic needle beneath a chair. There was no ice machine on our floor, and the next morning there was a bucket by the elevator catching water from a leak. I wasn’t impressed with this place.

I enjoyed the room, and the location is great, but there were a couple of problems. I arrived close to midnight on a Friday a few weeks ago and found a girl asleep at the desk. I’m not sure of her name; she had no name tag or uniform. When she woke up, she had an attitude with me, I assume because I’d interrupted her sleep. Later, I went out for a quick food run and found the doors locked when I returned around 2:30 a.m. I waited outside in the cold for about 25 minutes, calling the hotel with no answer. I had to wait for another guest to leave so I could get back in. The desk clerk still wasn’t there when I returned.

Kristie, who I believe is the General Manager, deserves a special mention. She was professional and courteous, and seemed genuinely invested in guests having a good experience. You can see that care in how the hotel is run. Sleep Inn was clean, welcoming, and well organized, and every staff member I encountered was friendly and attentive. I had an excellent stay from start to finish and will definitely return.

We came down for the cat festivities and had a great time. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was good. The desk clerk made the stay especially memorable. Miss Jade was friendly and personable, made us laugh, and handled everything quickly and efficiently. It was clear she takes pride in her work and the place. We didn’t have any worries, concerns, or needs during the stay. We’ll be back, without a doubt. Thank you, Miss Jade, for all your help!
