Comfort Inn & Suites Gunnison - Crested Butte

A simple place in a good location. On Oct 1st, though, I waited for breakfast and could see the night manager asleep through the office window. I couldn’t wake him. He needs an alarm so he’s up by 6:00 AM to handle checkout and get the breakfast room ready.

My son and I stayed from 11/18-11/22, and I was disgusted by the experience. Our room was cleaned just once in six nights, despite my complaining every day to the on duty manager BKaras. She was rude and offered no apology. On Friday night, I found housekeeping in the hallway and showed her our room, asking her to clean it. She said she didn’t understand and didn’t speak english. Other guests told me they’d also gone several days with uncleaned rooms. If I’d known that, I never would have booked here. We’re paying for daily housekeeping, and this is completely unacceptable. I lived in Gunnison for years and know a lot of people there who host visitors. I’ll tell everyone I know not to put their guests here. This is a shoddy hotel business, and I’m a very disgusted customer.

The location was pretty good, and the front desk lady was nice. She also didn’t charge me a pet deposit, though I think I should have gotten a discount on the room too. I arrived at 11 pm, but some kind of software issue kept me from getting checked in until midnight. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and the paint was terrible. It cost a lot for a hotel in such poor shape. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you have to.

The AC worked well, and they had a room available when the better places were full, which is why it gets three stars. Otherwise, the place needs fresh paint and landscaping. The rooms are dated, with worn furniture and stained carpets, and the cleaning chemicals smell awful because they use so much. The bed was VERY HARD, and my back is not happy. I paid over $240 for an upgrade, yet the TV was a tiny 19 inch set. Who thinks that’s okay in a hotel room? Maybe at a budget motel, but it’s pathetic at that price.
