I couldn't wait to leave early the next morning. The room smelled, and the heating unit made noise. The TV didn't work and had no remote, so I went to the desk three times; then it went off again around 11 p.m. and nobody helped. The vending machine was empty, the ice machine didn't work, and there were outdoor trash cans in the hallway. Other hotels nearby were full, or I would've asked for my money back. I stayed at Super 8 Weston, West Virginia, which was very nice and cheaper. This was a terrible experience. Don't stay here.

Once we got to our room and turned up the cold AC, we got comfortable and the night took a much better turn. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, and the TV reception was good. The location is central, and it felt safe for the excellent price. The young men at the front desk were friendly when they checked us in. At first, we were put off by the lack of atmosphere and surprised that the AC was off throughout the hotel. Also, they don't accept Google Pay or Apple Pay.

The daytime staff were friendly, and the water pressure was good. It's close to the interstate, which made for a quick escape. Still, the room was in bad shape and I didn't feel very safe. I had trouble finding the entrance because both sides looked like the back and shrubs blocked the door. The lobby smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and they asked for a strange $50 cash deposit. There are no elevators, though my room was near the lobby. The desk chair, lamps, and towel rack were loose or broken, and the walls had dents. Cheap plastic mattress covers made the beds crinkle whenever I moved, and they made me sweaty and kept me from sleeping well. This place needs a complete overhaul. It wasn't worth $100 for a Saturday night.

We needed somewhere quick, and the clean room and nice bathroom at this Super 8 worked well for us. Everything seemed updated, and the complimentary breakfast from 6 to 9 a.m. was handy to grab and go. We'd stay again and recommend giving it a try.
