Hahira Inn By OYO near Valdosta

The manager and owner of OYO Inn are fair, and the staff are really pleasant. It's close to most places to get food, and Valdosta's main street is about a 10-minute drive away, with pretty much everything else there too. For a budget stay, this place is great, neat, and clean. The towels are very thin, so bring your own. Dogs are allowed for $20 a day. It isn't a high-end hotel, but it's the best clean budget hotel I've stayed in. I'll definitely come back.

The only good thing I saw was the young woman working there. Bless her heart, she was honest. The smell hit you in the face, though, and nobody had mentioned it. The woman at the front desk in the store was good too. Otherwise, the place was moldy inside, with no TV or AC, dirty carpet, and a bad atmosphere. The smell was so bad it felt uninhabitable, and breathing it for too long might make you sick. You'd be better off in your pet's doghouse. I heard they were bad years ago, but I went back thinking the new management might have changed things. Nope, still bad. I'm not a hater, just telling the truth, and I hope they improve. Take that money and clean the place up, pay your workers. I booked online through a third party and couldn't get a refund. The manager was too lazy to email them about my not staying, and told me to have them call him, even though they usually handle that themselves. All my effort to get my money back went nowhere. I said the manager had a jerk attitude. There were no refunds.

At check-in I couldn't find my ID, so they wouldn't let me and my guest check in. We were told we'd get a refund, but a month later the hotel denied it. They kept the $92. Unbelievable.

The lot was pretty empty when we arrived, and I had to go to the gas station to ask about our room. They said there was no TV, microwave, or fridge, and asked if I still wanted to stay. I had booked a refundable rate that wasn't supposed to be charged until check-in, but they charged my card anyway. When I called, they refused to refund it. I explained what the guy had told me, but they still wouldn't give the money back, so now I have to fight with my bank over this piece of crap motel. Why don't they list these things on the reservation page? We had to drive another 40 minutes to find a hotel where we'd feel comfortable. Do not book this dump or motel.
