We loved the spacious rooms and their lovely decor, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby coffee and hot chocolate were a nice touch. It’s a wonderful location for enjoying Half Moon Bay’s cute downtown Main Street.

The room was large and well appointed, and tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were available anytime. The inn is right on Main Street in the heart of Half Moon Bay’s business district, about a 20-minute walk from the beach. We could hear some traffic in room 1, which was closest to Main Street. The two-story, U-shaped strip mall around the inn leaves you choosing between keeping the shades down so people can’t see in or keeping them up for natural light. The dark curtain between the bed and shower area was see-through. That wasn’t an issue for me with my wife, but it might be for other guests. The breakfast buffet never appeared on either of our two days; a basket of oranges, bananas, and apples sat there all day. Check-in was confusing, and there didn’t seem to be anyone on site to sort out problems. We were emailed that we’d receive a door code, but it came through as "****". After calling, we eventually reached someone who gave us two codes, one for the front door and one for the room. At first it wasn’t obvious where to enter them: the keypad is on the lock, but stays dark until you try pressing where you hope the first number goes. Parking was also unclear. The listing says it’s free, but that only applies for two hours, and we couldn’t tell if the lot behind the strip mall was available. Parking out front was $12 paid to the inn, plus another $3 in fees and taxes, which felt like a lot.

Right in the middle of Main Street, and getting into our clean room was easy. It had everything we needed, and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed the stay and would definitely book again.

The recent renovation shows, and the mattresses are new and firm. Check-in and checkout were very easy, with no reception and just a door code, which I liked. There’s self-serve coffee in the morning, and Main Street Half Moon Bay is very convenient to reach. At night we heard occasional footsteps or wind, and on Tuesday the garbage pickup at 4 AM woke us.

A nice room in a convenient location. Everything was automated, and I didn’t see a single person during my stay.
