A few weeks ago I called to leave a message for a guest who I knew was staying in a friend’s camper there. It was an emergency. The woman on the phone flat-out said she’d never heard of that name, which I knew wasn’t true. The owner and the woman hosting him in her camper are best friends. That was a pathetic and very unprofessional way to handle it. Do better. I’d stayed at this motel a few times several years ago, before the current owners took over. Back then, the rooms were nice, cozy, comfortable, and quiet.

The staff were very rude and looked like they’d been up for weeks. We got bedbugs too. This place needs to be condemned. When I asked for a refund, the woman just laughed.

The rooms were really clean and a decent size, and the price was very good. The buildings are old, though the outside is maintained. We could barely hear the trucks and nearby train track from our room. It was easy to find with Google Maps, there were a few nice places to eat, and getting back on the road heading east was simple. When we drove up, we weren’t sure it would be nice.

Inside, the cedar walls and ceiling gave the room a warm, comfortable feel, and it was immaculately clean. The outside was inviting too, with retro outdoor furniture that suited the motel’s vintage roots. The manager, or owner, had a friendly, caring, helpful, and professional manner. We had such a pleasant, restful stay that we wished we could’ve stayed longer.

This is a cute, tucked-away place, and the room was clean and cozy. I’d booked somewhere in Scottsbluff first, but the neighborhood felt sketchy when we arrived and I didn’t want my kids staying there. I found this place on Google right away. The woman who took my call was kind and helpful when I explained what happened, and they even offered air mattresses for the kids. They went above and beyond, and I’m grateful. I’d definitely recommend it and will come back. It looks like it’d be fun in summer with the fire pit outside.
