The Beach House Half Moon Bay

We were only here for one night, and the visit was good, even excellent in some ways. The beach is close by, and breakfast was great, with items from local bakeries. The chocolate croissant was the best, and there were vegetarian choices too. The bathroom was fine and the bed was acceptable, though a little too soft. The TV wasn’t very usable, and for the price it would’ve been nice to have a smart TV to connect to. The room could also use some updating to make this Beach House feel brighter.

The best part was the receptionist’s recommendation for a three-hour hike over the cliffs to Seal Cove. Spectacular. It’s a quirky, comfortable place right on the bay, with large rooms and a nice breakfast you can eat outside. The style is quite old fashioned, but that seems common around here and adds to the charm. There are some decent places to eat within a 10-minute walk.

Victoria at the front desk made us feel like family from the minute we arrived, and the hotel really went above and beyond during our quick spring-break visit with the kids. They loved the heated pool, spa, and location. Our room was roomy, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast included fresh croissants and pastries. We had a great one-night stay at the Beach House.

Our kids wished we could stay the whole week, but we only had one night. We’ll definitely come back. The room was very spacious, had a view, and felt clean and inviting. Breakfast was much better than at any other hotel we’ve stayed at, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was also close to most of the places we wanted to visit.
