Best Western Orlando West

The room had a patio, dining table and chairs, plus a fridge and microwave. There was also a vanity and sink outside the bathroom, so two people could get ready at once. It was spacious and clean, with fairly updated furniture and fixtures. The grounds were well kept, especially since it was barely past the hurricane. Breakfast came as a bag lunch: water, juice, an Otis spunkmeyer muffin, fresh apple, yoplait yogurt, Doritos, and a chocolate hazelnut waver roll. More than I could eat, and much better than the free breakfast I’d expected. Service was great too. We’d booked a cheap one-night stay in the area we needed, expecting a dingy motel, but were pleasantly surprised. Earlier in the week we’d stayed at a nearby La Quinta for the same nightly price and room size, and that place was gross. We’ll stay here again, especially if we need to evacuate for another hurricane.

I’m only staying one night because I have a large dog and most hotels don’t work for us in pocket dog land. I can’t wait to leave. I don’t recommend this place unless you have no other options. The bed was covered in human and dog hair, and there was dog urine on the pillowcase. I called the front desk, and a woman came right away, but she tried to reuse the old sheets and pillowcases. Changing the sheets took her over 20 minutes. I then raised my concerns with Chris at the front desk. He was dismissive and told me bye rather than listen. I’ll be calling corporate. Not cleaning or changing sheets between guests is unacceptable. The area felt awful too.

There was hair all over the shower, floor, bed, and even the walls. Dust and plastic were left on the floor, and the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The room was disgusting and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The manager was polite when I spoke to him, but didn’t seem to care much. He gave me a key to another room, and it was just as unclean. I don’t understand how Best Western allows this. I strongly urge anyone thinking of staying here to reconsider.

The landscaping and outdoor areas were beautiful, with lots of pretty plants and a cared-for feel. I love seeing people go out of their way to make a place beautiful. There’s also a nice park about a five-minute walk away, which I enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked my stay. The room was clean, I appreciated the art in it, and all the staff were really great.
