The Texas decor was quaint, and the hotel felt clean and cozy. I only saw one staff member working at a time, but both people I encountered were efficient and helpful. The bed was comfortable enough, though I prefer a softer or pillow-top mattress, and the AC caused no problems. We had to ask for toilet paper at check-in, and it was brought promptly. There was just one coffee pod in the room, so we asked for more since we like to take our time over at least two cups in the morning. Watch out when opening the pods: the thin paper tears easily and spilled grounds everywhere, so we ended up throwing out two. We missed the 9am breakfast cutoff, so didn't try breakfast. The location was convenient for our event, and the hotel worked well for our stay. We'd come back.

We come here every year on our way south. The staff are friendly, the room is clean and comfortable, and there's plenty of space to walk our dog. Breakfast is small but good, with hot choices.

I've stayed at Hotel Texas several times when visiting my grandkids, and Victor and Dee have always been great. Dee also knows a lot about Teslas! The staff are very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend.

The owners are fantastic, which is a bonus. The rooms are clean and laid out really well, and the location is convenient, with a grocery store, Walmart, Pizza Hut, a Mexican restaurant, and a 24-hour What-a-burger nearby. It's an easy 15 miles south of Interstate 10, and worth the drive into Hallettsville. I love this place!

The breakfast was a letdown, with powdered eggs and rubbery sausage. If that's what you consider a good meal, you might like it, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere. The room had problems too: the AC unit was so loud that we had to cover it with towels to get some sleep. Our stay was really frustrating because of the poor customer service. The front desk manager seemed to be the only staff member around, and was consistently rude and unhelpful. Calling the desk often felt like we were interrupting his personal time. He was rarely there and usually only showed up after we'd called several times. 🤮
