Budget Host Caribou Inn

Our family would come back if we're heading north again. It's a little outdated, but the price was decent, and Ronnie made the stay easy. Even with our very late, or really early, check-in, our keys were waiting at the front desk and a roll-out cot was upstairs near our room. She went beyond what we expected to make sure we were comfortable and had somewhere to stay. Her customer service was fantastic, even over text. Thanks for everything, Ronnie. The shower was great, with plenty of hot water and strong pressure, and the air conditioning could make the room very cold or just comfortably cool. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were good, and the towels were soft. The fridge and microwave were fine, and the TV and internet worked well. I stayed three nights for a family reunion. Matt and his wife were the only employees, but they were friendly and helpful with questions and room supplies like extra pillows or an iron. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, though the place could use updating and wasn't fancy. Breakfast was basic but had options: bagels, muffins, waffles, cereal, milk, juice, and spreads. The Keurig worked well, with coffee and tea available around the clock. The breakfast area and lobby were clean and welcoming. I felt welcome, slept well each night, and had a nice stay.

I stayed here a couple of times for work, and wouldn't do it again. Most of the rooms I had were nasty: bodily fluid stains all over, woodchips and sawdust somehow on the bed, a smashed microwave, and a mini fridge held together with tape that was out of order. When I tried to get more of my bags, the person at the desk tried to lock me out. I felt cleaner before I got in the shower. If you've got a nice car, you'd be better off sleeping in it.

The Wi-Fi was super fast, around 250 Mbps, and the rooms were acceptable. The AC kept things cool and the beds were okay. We were there for a family reunion, and it was hard to reach anyone at first to make a reservation. One of the two water heaters had just been replaced and was waiting on parts, so they were down to one. Given how far away everything is up there, that was understandable. They asked guests to shower at random hours. The shower heads had a lot of pressure and air coming through, which felt different but was fine. You get what you pay for, and there really aren't other options. I'd stay again.
