My daughter and I both felt welcome here, and most importantly, safe. Brianna, I hope I spelled that right, turned a frustrating start to our day and stay into a pleasant one. She greeted us like old friends and made us feel wanted. I can’t complain about any of the staff. Even when we came back on our last night looking and feeling like hot trash after hauling shrimp and crabs from the bayou to my parents’ house, we got a warm “welcome back.” Thanks so much for the southern hospitality. We’ll definitely stay here again. The rooms were clean, though they could use updating. Some furniture had cosmetic flaws, and the drawer in the table between the beds wouldn’t stay shut. The beds were clean and comfortable, the AC worked well, and the curtains blocked the light enough for us to catch up on sleep. The only noise we heard was a train once or twice a night.

We come to Hammond to see our daughter, who pitches for SLU #21, and this is our go-to hotel each time. It’s in a handy spot near everything, the rooms are really clean, and the beds are super comfy. My husband is handicapped, and the staff and management take good care of us. Everyone is so kind, and the value paired with the customer service is wonderful. I’d highly recommend it and am excited to return this weekend. Tyronica was professional, attentive, and very kind to me. Thank you!

The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable, which was the bright spot. But the Wi-Fi didn’t work, trains ran all night beside the hotel, and construction next door started at 6 a.m. Breakfast wasn’t available because an employee didn’t show up. At 6:30 the lobby was dark, and the desk staff didn’t seem to care.

I’ve been trying for quite a while to sort out a billing problem with no success. I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond, Louisiana on December 30, 2025, and had prepaid through a third-party company. At check-in, I was asked for a credit card for incidentals and told the hold would be released after checkout. Instead, I was charged twice and the hotel kept the $136.26 incidental hold. Whenever I call, the same woman answers, takes my name and number, and says a manager will follow up. Nobody ever does, despite this happening repeatedly. The customer service feels dismissive and extremely unprofessional. Very disappointing. Between the billing and lack of accountability, this place has caused more stress than it’s worth. If you’re looking for a hotel in the Hammond area, I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

The only reason I’m giving this three stars is that the staff were polite and helpful. Everything else was a disappointment, and it wasn’t the Marriott experience I expected. Our sink clogged, but there was no maintenance person and the hotel was booked, so we were basically told to live with a sink that wouldn’t drain. We also found live bugs in the shower and more in the sink. It was truly disappointing.
