Ramada Hotel & Conference Center by Wyndham Hammond

The room was clean and nice, and the staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was as usual. The problem was that our windows wouldn’t lock, so they had to use a stick to keep one closed. They offered to move us, but we’d already settled in, and I’d had a procedure and couldn’t lift more than 5 pounds, so changing rooms wasn’t a good option for us.

I’m a bus driver and stayed here last night with a team. Nobody told me where to park the bus when we arrived. The room smelled like an ashtray, and the carpets were filthy, like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Later, after I’d returned with the team, I got a call in the middle of the night telling me to move the bus or it would be towed, and saying the team could be kicked out too, even though they had nothing to do with it. The security guard got agitated with me and used a derogatory term. In the morning, I went to the general manager, but she took the hotel staff’s side instead of hearing me out. That says a lot about how the place is run. The GM needs to work on her professionalism. The night auditor should come in uniform so guests can recognize him as an employee instead of someone who shouldn’t be behind the desk. I filed a complaint with Wyndham support, though I doubt it will go anywhere. This is one of the worst properties I’ve stayed at. Keep looking; it’s not worth your time.

My apartment had a broken pipe, so I’m stuck at this RAGGEDY RAMADA until Saturday. They’ve got no ATM or ice, and in the few days I’ve been here, a shower valve came off and the writing table collapsed. I’m handicapped and in a handicapped room, but there’s no shower chair, only a tiny shower mat. At 5 AM, I had to drag the broken table out of the way myself so I could pick up my things. I guess the guy was too busy to help. Housekeeping took my Fritos but left the garbage. This morning, a young “lady” at the front desk snapped at me when I went to shower. I had to stop her and say it wasn’t that serious. The RAGGEDY INN really is raggedy. Maybe the RAGGEDY RAMADA should hire mature adults who can handle the stress, because this woman-child couldn’t. Anyway, I’m here until Saturday, then it’s Hampton Inn for me. Bye-bye, RAGGEDY RAMADA!

The rooms were clean and had plenty of towels, and the staff were amazing. We had an unusual check-in request and called around to several places. Ramada was the only one willing to accommodate us. It slowed things down while they checked with the manager, but they got it sorted out. The beds weren’t very comfortable. They were hard, and I could feel the springs, though that might just be me. Still, it’s a good value for the price.
