The breakfast was restaurant quality, a step above what most hotels offer, and I liked being able to take it back to my room. The pool looked awesome, though I didn’t get to swim. The room was nicer than at most hotels, with a cooktop, dishes, glasses, and a dishwasher in the kitchen area. Everything was top notch. Next time I’m in the area, Residence Inn will be my first choice.

I had to drive an hour on a holiday to find somewhere else, and I’ve never been treated so badly at a hotel. Last year, they couldn’t honor another guest’s reservation for a handicap room, so we agreed to move rooms. This year I booked two nights through an airline app. At check-in they confirmed my checkout date, and we signed the no partying agreement since I was there to see family. The room smelled strongly of marijuana, and the front desk employee gave us odor spray. He said the manager would call in the morning about a discount. The guests across the hall played music so loudly the windows shook. While I was out the next morning, a rude front desk worker called and said we had to leave because they claimed we’d only booked one night. I offered proof of the two-night booking, but they refused to accept it. They were sold out and didn’t care to honor our reservation because they make more money from direct bookings. I asked for the manager and was put on hold. Eventually someone answered, said I’d been transferred to a guest room, and hung up. When I called again, I was told the manager couldn’t be found. Back at the hotel, I asked for the manager. She stood with crossed arms and a smirk, making no effort to be kind or professional. I mentioned the marijuana smell. She said she’d cleaned the room herself, but didn’t explain why she hadn’t called as promised. She just kept saying they were sold out and couldn’t help us. She suggested the hotel next door, but we needed a suite for three adults. She was extremely rude and condescending. I packed up, and as I left I handed the key to the housekeeper across the hall. It was actually the manager cleaning the room. The whole situation was awful.

The hotel itself was solid, with nice rooms, good breakfast, and pleasant staff. But watch out for the shower body soap. It didn’t spy on me, haha, but it left my skin so dry I looked like a snake. Residence Inn uses a brand called North 39 degrees. I don’t usually have sensitive skin, but this was bad enough that I had to buy lotion. The dryness started a few hours after the shower. Take that for what it is. :)

I travel around the US for work and have stayed at a few Residence Inns, but this was the worst. The dishwasher smelled like standing sewage water when I opened it. There were days with sporadic or no hot water, and the TV kept having issues. During a three-week stay, the room was cleaned only twice, and neither time was it done very well. I wouldn’t recommend it.

0/0. The hotel looked nice and up to date, but we spent Valentine’s Day night fighting roaches. It’s infested. I’ve never stayed somewhere with roaches, and didn’t even know they still existed. I complained to the man downstairs, who was really nice and told me I’d get my money back at checkout the next morning. But Shanta Hurst told Jennifer not to refund me, and I don’t understand why. If I’d known I wasn’t getting my money back, I would’ve left that night. It was embarrassing to book a hotel for my partner for a special occasion and find ROACHES. I’ll never stay here again.
