Canoe Place Inn and Cottages

I'm from Long Island and have stayed at several places in the Hamptons over the years, and Canoe Place Inn was easily the best experience I've had. The room details were extraordinary, especially the fireplace. Service was great and the food was delicious. I'll be back very soon.

We've had good dinners here in the past and visited many times, but this was our third bad experience, and I'm only now writing about it. The meat we ordered medium rare came out medium to well. Things seem inconsistent from week to week, even the same entrée can be totally different, and service is hit or miss. For a place with such a spectacular location that put so much into the building and logistics, I can't believe there's no wine fridge. The red wine was served so warm it was almost shocking. Better restaurants know red wine shouldn't be served above room temperature.

Marco and the rest of the staff were attentive, and every dish we tried was excellent. The vibe was just right. We had an amazing dining experience and will absolutely be back!

The breakfast buffet was generous, with fresh bagels, eggs, cheese, fruit, and pastries. It was a lovely way to start the day. We spent two nights at Canoe Place Inn & Cottages just after Christmas and before New Year's, and the place felt festive but peaceful. Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly quiet, with thoughtful details everywhere. The fireplace made it feel cozy and private during the holidays, and there was even a Christmas tree waiting in the room when we arrived. The property is elegant, charming, and quiet, while still feeling personal for a high-end boutique hotel. Service was warm, professional, and personal. Every staff member we met made an effort to welcome us, and the food at the bar was delicious. The atmosphere felt relaxed but refined. We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to return.
