Buckroe Motel

Neither the TV nor Wi-Fi worked in my first room. They moved me, but the bathroom light was out there, and Wi-Fi still didn’t work. Other guests said theirs never worked either. There were holes in the wall. Only stay here if you’re desperate.

A friend booked a week but was told to leave that same day, even though they hadn’t done anything wrong. The place smelled awful, and there was long dog hair under the bed. They said the city had shut it down for safety reasons, then refused to refund the money. It reminded me of a dumpy motel.

I’ve known this place for years, and it’s always been poorly managed. New management took over two weeks ago and seems to be doing its best to improve the rooms and install new AC/Heater units. The rooms are clean and bug-free. The beds have bed bug covers, the linens are clean and unstained, and management seems to care. They’re doing a good job turning the place around.

The room I got was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. There was trash, what looked like black mold, old food stains on the walls, and a horrible smell. It was obvious nobody had touched the room. I itched all night. I’m extremely clean, and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. I couldn’t switch rooms because they said there weren’t any more available. I don’t even know who management is now. The woman I spoke with, if she was management, seemed like she might be on drugs too. If you’re on drugs or on the run, maybe this is the place for you. Otherwise, don’t waste your time or money. It’s not worth it, and you’ll regret it. It needs to be shut down until improvements are made. 0/10.
