I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. I brought my own pillow and comforter, but the beds were fine too. The rooms looked better than the pictures, probably because the motel had been renovated somewhat recently. For $100, you could do worse.

When it’s 20 degrees outside, having no hot water is rough. I can only get a hot shower around 5 a.m. The roofs leak when it rains, and the TVs don’t work.

The rates haven’t gone up much, and the rooms have improved a lot since last year. Remodeling them was a great idea and made a major difference. For a motel, I’d give it 4.5 stars. Keep up the good work, Relax Inn.

The staff are consistently polite and helpful, and the location puts you right in the center of Hampton. Relax Inn is a dependable, well-kept budget motel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a spacious bed, a decent desk for work, and nice wall art. The bathroom has plenty of room, a marble countertop, and a separate sink and toilet area.

Please don’t make the mistake I did. It’s cheap for a reason, and everything was dirty. The room looked like it hadn’t been updated since Tina was on stage rolling on the river. I’d almost have preferred jail. We only booked it to avoid driving home drunk, but I wouldn’t do it again. Love yourself and stay away.
