My daughters and I all enjoyed our stay. The staff and cook were very nice, and the downtown location puts you near restaurants, a quaint little coffee house, a wine place, bars, a movie theater, lots of shops, and whatever festivities are happening at the civic center.

The Inn was comfortable, and the staff were great. It’s in a nice, walkable residential area.

Ricky, the property manager, answers calls personally and was especially accommodating with requests on site. Pets are very welcome, though this isn’t an easy property for disabled guests. The restaurant is the main reason I’d return. During two days in the area for business, friends and I tried several dinner entrees and enjoyed breakfast as well. Chef Hussein has been making delicious food for nearly 30 years and didn’t disappoint with the salmon, chicken, or beef. They also offer Easter and Mother’s Day brunch, and the woman who makes the pastries and desserts is gifted. The Irwin Street Inn is a real find for anyone adventurous enough to enjoy a historic inn near Fresno. It has welcoming 1890s character, with historically significant decor and well-kept woodwork. The rooms feel open, with windows and inviting high ceilings. The clawfoot tub and pull-chain commode are unique. There are some comfort details to improve, though: the bed and pillows need work, the exterior roof needs upkeep, and the room lacked both a comfortable side chair and a bedside reading lamp. A real historic inn jewel, especially for its restaurant.

I came for a business event in the courtyard, which was a beautiful setting. Dining service was arranged in an adjoining room, and the bar had top-shelf alcohol. The servers were gracious and accommodating. What a charming, welcoming place!

The Victorian-style homes on the property are lovely, and Ricky is a great manager who does a great job. Justin the chef does great meals too. OMG, you have to try his salmon and shrimp pasta.
