The staff were accommodating and friendly, and they do try to keep things clean. They made the stay okay enough that I didn’t make a big fuss. But the hallways smelled like everything at once, from all over the map, and the odor came through the vents, walls, and hallway and got into my clothes. I was embarrassed at work because my coworkers smelled it, made faces, and commented. I don’t usually smell bad, so I know it came from the hotel. I wish I could capture that smell, there are no words. There were dogs peeing in the hallways, and people smoking weed in them when they couldn’t get outside. Even going outside meant walking past it close to the building, which could be a problem if you’re trying to stay sober. I don’t think that’s the hotel’s fault, though. Some long-term guests don’t seem to have the basic consideration they were raised with. Maybe it’ll be a better location once they leave. The hotel needs updating to match the price. Since guests have to bring their own items, it should cost a little less. I’d be prepared for the smell, though maybe some people are used to it. The hallways should smell clean. Housekeeping was friendly, but the person needs backup. Keep him and hire someone to detail-clean each room.
