Quality Inn Harlingen

The parking lot is badly damaged and needs serious repair, and the hotel and rooms are dated. The room and linens had an old smell, and the shower and tub floor was dingy and stained. A family emergency meant I had to leave four paid nights unused, but they refused to give me credit to use those nights the following week.

The AC tried, but the room was still too muggy, and I had to kill a few roaches. The outside and inside were dirty, even more so than I’d read, and other long-term guests seemed to confirm the poor condition. It’s obvious nobody cares for the place. I wanted to like it, but I won’t stay again. Drive away from the Harlingen area and stay a town or two away.

The staff were pleasant, and being next to an H-E-B was handy. But the feeder road made it noisy at night, and I’m a light sleeper, so I got no rest even in a room at the back. The parking lot looked abandoned, with crumbling curbs and large mildew spots from leaking AC units. The basic room was very humid, the metal lamps were rusted, their shades were moldy, and there were roaches in the bathroom. There were shoe prints on the wall for some reason. Between losing sleep and my wife being unhappy, I wouldn’t stay again.

The area is loud, the rooms are old, and the parking lot is in bad shape. Breakfast is just coffee, waffles, and cereal. This place doesn’t live up to the “Quality” name.
