La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mansfield OH

We like staying here because there are restaurants around us, a couple of gas stations, and a Walmart right next door. The staff are extremely friendly, and the hotel and pool area are clean. The rooms are fine, though the mattresses are hard and uncomfortable. Having both a pool and hot tub is a plus.

There’s plenty to eat and shop for nearby, with Cracker Barrel and Walmart within walking distance, plus a Seven Eleven, another gas station, Richland Mall about 15 minutes away, and lots of other stores and attractions. The room itself was spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable, especially the bed. Housekeeping worked hard to keep it that way, and staff made sure I had what I needed without my having to ask. I’d rate the stay a 10 out of 10 and would come back.

The room was clean and everything worked, and the fridge was bigger than the ones I’m used to seeing at budget motels. After a stop during a winter storm, we found a warm welcome from staff who were just starting to get busy but still helped us settle in. Someone pushed our luggage cart from the entrance all the way to our room, then smiled and laughed off a tip. In the morning, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and waffles made for a hot breakfast before we continued on. I’d recommend this La Quinta Inn in Mansfield, Ohio.

We’d go back. The nightly pet fees are affordable, and the pool and hot tub were nice, although the ventilation seemed awful. You could see fog and condensation on the windows from both outside and in, and cold drops often fell inside. It made me wonder about the air and germs on the ceiling. The breakfast was adequate but crowded, and the vending machine had lots of $1 items, including a size of Spicy Doritos I hadn’t seen before, though the machine was outdated. Our room key battery also died and needed replacing. One nearby outside door claimed to work with a key card, but it stayed locked and didn’t.
