SpringHill Suites Benton Harbor St. Joseph

The front desk staff were very nice, but I won’t return because of the room condition and some workers’ hostility. The room was small, with blankets stained in several places. In the pool room, the electrical outlets had corroded, rust-covered plates that made swimming feel unsafe. At breakfast, staff were raising their voices at people getting coffee at 6:50, even though breakfast began at 7. We saw how hostile the atmosphere was and went somewhere else to eat.

The convenient location worked well, with enough places to eat within a reasonable distance for meals besides breakfast. I was impressed by the room and facilities, and breakfast was good too. I had several interactions with staff, and everyone was pleasant and helpful.

We checked out after finding massive urine stains on the mattresses in three different rooms. Horrific. I don’t know why this is considered acceptable at Marriotts now.

Breakfast was really good and fresh, and the whole staff deserves compliments for making our stay so nice. We had three rooms for our family while we were in town for our nephew’s wedding. They had the rooms ready a bit early even though the hotel was full, and let us check in an hour ahead of time so we could get ready. We appreciated that a lot. Crystal was at the front desk. She was busy but helped us promptly and was so friendly. She was awesome.
