Avid Hotel Harrisburg Ne Hershey Area, An Ihg Hotel

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was nice. The pool was okay once you got used to the water, though it could have been a little warmer. Our king room was quite small, with no dresser or closet, just benches and a couple of shelves underneath. It wasn't fully clean at check-in, so the manager moved us to a ready room on the second floor, away from other guests. That was too far for me to walk because I'm handicapped. We asked again, and the gentleman at the desk found us a room by the side exit. The hotel is close to Hershey Chocolate World and the park, but everything else was an hour or more away. Good for a short stay near the park. The hotel is fairly new, though there were a few cosmetic construction mistakes.

A good budget option for exploring the area. The rooms are a good size and laid out well for business or leisure travel. There's a small indoor pool and a good-sized gym on the lobby level, plus guest laundry on the third floor. The lobby has a mini market and lots of seating inside and out. Breakfast is complimentary, and coffee is always available there. Avid by IHG is just outside Harrisburg, about a 20-minute drive from HAR airport, with plenty of free parking for guests arriving by car.

The design and setup worked perfectly for us, and it was well worth the money. We were a family of five and I'd recommend it for a group that size. Breakfast had lots of options too. Enjoy Hershey!

I've never stayed in a louder hotel. You hear and feel every hallway door slam, the TV next door, and people talking in the room on the other side. Worst of all, the highway is right outside. It's so loud you might as well be sleeping on the road. The place isn't soundproofed, and it feels like some features make the noise worse. Absolutely horrible.
