Sleep Inn & Suites Harrisburg - Hershey North

The staff were so kind, and the kids really enjoyed the pool. Having until 11am to check out gave us lots of time in the morning, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basically continental. There are two waffle makers, but running both at once kept blowing the circuit. The shower controls, which you push in and turn, were also hard to adjust.

There was no hot water the second morning, and we couldn't find anyone at the desk either morning to discuss our problems. After we left, the hotel told us there was no manager available on weekends. We don't recommend staying here. The new-looking exterior was misleading. Inside, the hotel felt worn, outdated, and dirty. Our room had garbage in a bin, dirty handprints on the bathroom door and wall, stains or spots at the bottom of the shower curtain, a panel behind the TV pulling away, and a loose toilet seat. The toilet didn't flush properly, and by 7am the first morning the shower had neither hot water nor pressure.

Quiet during the off season, comfortable, and a great value. There are some great restaurants nearby, too.

When our van finally broke down in the parking lot, the staff helped us so much. It was just me and my disabled son, and they were patient and caring. They let us stay past checkout, then comped the second night once it was clear the mobile mechanic couldn't get the vehicle going and we'd need to stay. Another guest mentioned a mechanic shop up the street. A staff member looked it up and offered to drive me there the next morning. He also let us keep the room again, even though he didn't know whether we'd need another night. The van was eventually fixed, and we stayed one more night. We couldn't have broken down in a better place. Those guys were a blessing to me and my son, and we'll stay again when we're in the area.
