Hilton Harrisburg

I had to bring my dog along unexpectedly because of emergency surgery, and Hilton Harrisburg made a challenging trip feel easy. They let me check in early, and the restaurant staff even made him fresh whipped cream so he could take his medicine. We had a wonderful stay, and I'm so grateful for how kind and helpful everyone was.

The location made getting to downtown sights, restaurants, and the riverfront easy, and we liked having on-site dining. The hotel had a cozy feel throughout, with details that made it feel welcoming. Our room was spotless, spacious, and nicely appointed. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and helpful. We loved staying at the Hilton Harrisburg and would happily come back, whether for work or a getaway.

Everyone we dealt with was kind and helpful from the start. Caren was the first person we met. We weren't sure how to reach the front desk, and she kindly showed us the way. Later we saw her at the 1700 hostess desk. Caleb served us at the A-Lib restaurant and was very nice. Miguel and Ty Qucn at the front desk were professional and pleasant. Brandon at the front desk also helped me work out how to leave comments so the staff would know they were appreciated. Thanks again for a great stay.

My advertised gluten-free breakfast turned out not to be gluten-free, and I got very sick. I have a food allergy and can't eat gluten, so this is a serious problem. I then had to drive for five hours while sick. The menus claimed there were gluten-free options, but either there weren't any or the chef didn't understand the ingredients. Food allergies can be deadly. If the kitchen can't safely accommodate people, guests should be told when booking so they can stay elsewhere. I've relied on Hilton for decades and have never been poisoned before. I hope this was a fluke. Some of the staff were great: the women at check-in and two male valets were awesome. The rooms were good and the hotel gym was fantastic. One female valet just stood around looking mean, though. The menu only lists two gluten-free options, which is already disappointing, but serving something that isn't safe is frightening.
