Quality Inn

The staff were great, the beds were comfortable, and it was quiet enough to rest after hiking in the Shawnee Forest. The place is dated, but at my age that's still better than tent camping, which I've done. I used to enjoy waking up to nature sounds in a tent when I was younger. The tub had an open hole where a stopper should be. Give yourself a night or two off to take the edge off before heading back to the daily grind.

We used this as our base for a weeklong hunting trip and it worked out great. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and having a fridge and microwave in the room was a big bonus for a longer stay.

The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was better than I could have hoped for, right off the main highway and near a really good Mexican restaurant.

At check-in and checkout the staff were friendly, and having the full lineup of Direct TV channels was nice. The rest of the stay was frustrating. The pool was still broken three months later, and the rooms still smelled, probably because they stay shut up with no air circulating. Breakfast was the same apples, waffles, orange and apple juice, and coffee, plus stale or noticeably off-brand honey buns. There was nothing for kids. The soap bars had been unwrapped and laid out neatly, but only one was in the dish; what happened to the other is a mystery. Calling the front desk got me nowhere too. After six rings I hung up and figured it out myself. I wish we'd read the reviews instead of choosing a familiar name.
