Friendly City Inn Bed & Breakfast

The little touches made us feel at home: La croix in the fridge, coffee and tea in handmade mugs, dark chocolate on the bedspread, and care around dietary restrictions at breakfast. The fresh baked cookies, delicious breakfast, lovely decorated rooms and grounds, and warm in-person check-in all made our weekend at Friendly City Inn feel special. This was our second stay, and the service, bedrooms, and overall experience exceeded our expectations both times. Leaving is always the saddest part because of how welcome and cared for we feel. It’s become the ultimate dc getaway for us.

Kyle, the Inn keeper, was kind and knew so much, and Tara is a genius in the kitchen. Our room was adorable, the breakfast delicious, and we met some really nice guests too. We came for a mother-daughter trip to see JMU, and Friendly City Inn was the perfect place to stay. We had the best time.

The back deck was one of my favorite places to relax, whether watching birds, reading, or having a snack or drink. The BnB itself is charming and cozy, with an easygoing feel, and the hosts are genuinely kind and welcoming. They went out of their way to work around my schedule and made sure I could have breakfast on time, which I really appreciated. I’d highly recommend staying here, and would absolutely come back.

Kyle welcomed me kindly, gave me a quick tour, and made it easy to come and go. I enjoyed sitting by the wisteria as it started to bloom, with a beautiful sunset. The chocolate chip cookies may have been the best I’ve ever had, and breakfast was indulgent and served with care. I absolutely loved my first recent stay at Friendly City Inn, and I’ve already booked another night for a few months from now.
