Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Harrisonburg

I stayed here while my truck was being repaired at the Kenworth a few minutes away and really enjoyed it. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was strong and relaxing. Julie at the front desk was very nice and helpful, and made me feel welcome. Kudos to her and the staff.

We picked this hotel because of reviews from other guests, so I wanted to add our own positive note. We were making a last-minute stop on a drive south and were very pleased with the value. The room was clean and had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast had decent options, and staff were quick to restock. It was also easy to get on and off I-81.

The staff were helpful, friendly, and productive, and the nearby I-81 didn’t bother me at all, even with no fan or heater running. You can walk through this hotel’s lot and the adjoining hotel lot to get straight to Cracker Barrel. It was a great stay for a fair price. The place appeared clean and well cared for, and I’d definitely return. Hotel rooms usually gross me out pretty easily, but I was satisfied with this one.

I left feeling stressed about bringing bed bugs home. After the motel refunded my money, I still had to buy new clothes, take everything I had to the laundromat, and vacuum my vehicle several times. My clothes are still in a bag after the wash, and I’m considering burning them. Six days later, someone else described having bugs here, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were in other rooms. Room 103 definitely had them. There were little red or rusty-looking spots all over the bedding, and I’d never dealt with bed bugs before, so I researched the signs. The night itself was miserable. I barely slept and thought I was having an allergic reaction to the detergent. In the morning I showed a friend the marks all over my body; they checked the bed, pulled back the sheets, and turned the pillowcases inside out, revealing dozens and dozens of bugs. The staff apologized and refunded me, but acted like it was no big deal. I’m fairly sure they rented the room again the next evening. I don’t recommend staying here.
